Alan Turing created the World’s first computer in Manchester before dying tragically in the prime of his life because of love. In 2020 during Wigan’s Digital year of culture, the pioneering-Wigan-based- International-artist duo AL and AL will stage a major solo exhibition at The Turnpike in Leigh, celebrating Alan Turing’s love for Christopher Morcom who inspired the creation of sentient machines. Connecting the entire Wigan Borough together with a series of Emoji Topiary flower sculptures, AL and AL will transform the streets, inspired by our digital messages of love flying into the smartphones in our pockets and hearts.
